12:18 am - September 10th, Here I Come..

Lauriane Gillieron will always be my Miss Universe.

I just got back from orientation at SCAD and chillout on Jekyll Island. A lot of stuff, Mad Muffin kind of stuff, is going down, but it is all behind the scenes for now. Good things soon--good, good things.

I have been thinking of dropping LiveJournal and Xanga. I will still comment and stuff, but I do not want to post anymore. I just do not frequently have anything to say that is worth anyone else's time. There is no theme or anything like that. I would do a weekly comic, but I can't write that fast and I don't enjoy absolute nonsense. I'm not producing much at the moment, however I am in preparation mode. Like I said, it is all behind the scenes for now. Aye. Once the comics do start cropping up on a regular basis, they will most likely be at nuffinbutmuffin. So, no Livejournal and Xanga means more Myspace and Facebook, probably. I figure non-blog sites will fare me well (Some may think, "Myspace=non-blog?! Yeah right!" Well, yeah, right. Myspace looks better as a music place to me; not a picture or blog place). A lot of SCAD folks seem to have a Face and everybody else seems to have a Space. I will have those up tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and DeviantArt. The only reason I want to keep that up is because some of the people I know on there would never see my stuff otherwise. They are also going to be famous before both of us, so it is good to keep them close. You know, internet close. Not even that close for the internet. Sigh~

See you'll in the comment box!

EDit: Ha, ha, you like that, huh? EDit. EDit! Hm. So, my space is over at 97568190 until I decide I definitely want to be Tango forever. The song is still processing. I gots a face as well. You know the deal with that one.

Shoot.. Everybody decides to party on the week I get dragged off to Jekyll Island. Perhaps there will be Pirate Parties.
  • Anyway, here is some very personal information for everybody:
    • bad -> good / good -> bad: bad -> good
    • Nike / Adidas: Adidas
    • I am naked / Ich bin nackt: I am naked
    • DJ / VJ: VJ
    • Watterson / Schulz: Watterson
    • Tenchi / Ranma: Tenchi
    • Rubber / Duct: Duct
    • Deal / Gordon: Deal
    • Lehmann / Kahn: Kahn
    • Ed / Spencer: I do not particularly like either of them, but I usually root for Spencer because Ed can be nasty.
  • Party is a strange word and I can never get the ul and li to do what I want. Supposedly, Coast to Coast is going to be on Sci-fi and Nicktoons has a new Invader Zim. My mom has this art guy tutoring me. If it really goes down like this in college, I can already tell I am going to give some goofs some aches. The guy is from New York, though. He went to SVA. I am not sure what I am trying to say. He isn't very creative, and that is somehow the feeling I get from the N to the Y. I have to shift all of my plans a week or two. That includes, like, three parties I will miss, a movie with the G and M, racquetball with John, aaand.. you know, the world at my finger tips. Dude, seriously? Yes, I want to be in the Olympics someday. Handball is the way. I'mo also play soccer at SCAD. I will be a Bee. Cool. Then I will get into the MLS, get the U.S. to a semi-final World Cup game under Klinsi against Germany amidst all the craziness that could cause, lose (or win. either way is crazy), get noticed by some scout, get drafted into the Bundesliga to play for Hertha Berlin, have lunch with that one chick I was all weird about, decline an offer to play for Arsenal or Chelsea or any one of those English poops who suck up all the talent (Ballack.), never retire because, by this time, the earthworms will have served their purpose, etc. All this while simultaneously achieving the handball equivalents, playing lead hand claps in Iggy Pop's electro-bluegrass band, and revolutionizing the children's book industry. Books: "They're not just for kids anymore!" ::reassuring smile accompanied by a firm thumbs up::
  • I just got back from the first day of the National Black Arts Festival. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Most of it was, but enough of it wasn't. I had a talk with Djibril N'Doye. He is from Senegal. We talked about people, faces, Djibril Cisse, playing defense. He was very insightful. Without even seeing it, he knew stuff about my art stuff that the tutor guy does not even know. His deal is that he never went to art school. Comparing him to the tutor guy, I see art school as a place for art educators that shoots out folks like Ms. Manley. People who see a painting or something and immediately begin categorizing the style and asking, "What me~dium is this done in?" and.. I do not like the way I am sounding. You get me though, right? The tutor man saw some of my comics and started inquiring about anime and ship and noted that my panel layout was unu~sual and maybe I should use less panels for my portfolio. I gots this drawing of Hitler and he's yelling, but there is nothing in front of him and the tutor guy insisted this was wrong and that there should be something there to give some idea, but that is not the point, man. That is not what I want it to bee.
  • I may never type again. What do I sound like? Really.
  • Happy Birthday, Greta! Sorry if you do not see it or something, but I am not into the giant letters. I thought I might change the color, but there is no telling what color your friend's page is in. It may not have shown up.

9:17 pm - Macaroni Italiacs..

I have a few story book type deals on the way if I ever find time to stop playing FIFA 06. One is about Funky the Flowersaurus Rex, the other is a collection of half-page four-liners called Book of Random Fakts. And, and, and, I have three three-song singles to record. Edward Green, (L)imitation, and Machine Gums. I finally saw Me and You and Everybody We Know. We should watch it sometime. I am so totally open for collupadoops. I am always open for collupadoops. If anyone would like to colluporate or just brainrain for a few hours over lunch, I am here and not yet queer and my number is 770.596.5408, dear. However, my cell has been on the screwy side. Home is where the 770.942.4598 doth reside. I repeat, there is noo neeed to panic, the tornado is not headed this way!

current mood: World Cup

Um..Power Rangers and Dr. Who.
  • (Sorry in advance for saying certain words over and over and starting successive sentences with "the.")
  • Power Rangers. I have long stood by the belief that Power Rangers in Space was the best Power Rangers series, but I have been watching the even newer ones and I must say Power Rangers S.P.D. is strong contest. Here comes some compare/contrast. Please note this is based on dwindling memories of Space and about ten episodes of S.P.D.
  • While Space has a deeper, more emotional storyline and sleek, uniform uniforms, S.P.D. takes everything else. (The S.P.D. suits come close, though, and the Space suits even show up in S.P.D.)
  • The pretense for the series allows for much more variation in the events that take place. The Rangers are not fighting off monsters that attack them, rather they are patrolling space and capturing criminals. The conflicts are isolated incidents independant of each other. This allows for a different style of pursuit: clues, detective work, hide and seek type deals, etc.
  • The pacing and structure of the episodes are very creative. They completely ditch the traditional formula. Quite frequently an episode will begin with a zord battle or end with a foot soldier fight. No episode ever seems excessively rushed like most kids shows and cartoons (that's another story). It still's got to be done in thirty minutes, though..
  • Also, rather than trying to revamp existing weapon, zord, monster, etc. concepts, S.P.D. embraces the past without straight-up copying. They are like subtle tributes. The most apparent example of this is the mounted cannon-like finishing weapon they use or the car zords similar to Power Rangers Turbo.
  • While I am on weaponry, I may as well give props to Space. During battle, they continuously use the various weapons they had at their disposal (ex: I believe Andros used the Spiral Saber.) unlike other series that seem to use their weapons only at special occasions.
  • The fight scenes are pretty excellent.
  • The supporting characters are way, way, way multifaceted (fig n lit) i.e. not Bulk and Skull, not yet Stargate.
  • Really, the only bad thing is the Rangers' humanoid dog commander's mouth. He is a puppet and it barely moves when he speaks.
As for Dr. Who..I LOVE DR. WHO!!! I seen "the Empty Child" and I am watching part to, "the Doctor Dances" as we speak. This is so fantastic.

  • A bird decided to have kids in our backyard. I nearly ran it over with the lawn mower. It was weird seeing a nest in the ground. There aren't any trees around, so it didn't fall. I tried taking pictures, but I couldn't get any good shots without the mother puffing up and trying to eat me. They're all gone now. I tried to find the spot, but they left no trace. That all sounded really melancholy or something.
  • I'm basing the majority of this post on something I wrote a few days ago..back then I was all excited about the future of Mad Muffin and my music and all. Not so much now. Still a little, but not much. My parents being out of the house for a couple of hours is not enough to get stuff done. I want to go outside, but the neighbors with all their business and fences and yardwork.. I don't feel comfortable. I need a space and one other person who, I dunno, whatever. I get bored with my vocals sometimes. I want the excitement of the Mates of State. Grr.. better microphone, pressure sensitive keyboard, (to be continued..)
